  Just happened on this link. The call to forgiveness is something so many struggle with and I wonder if it may be that our theology of forgiveness makes it all too hard. I have found that describing forgiveness as letting go of resentment can make it a little easier.I also have found it helpful to remember that when Jesus was on the cross his words were “Father forgive them” Maybe at the time he found it a little too hard to forgive those who had so brutally treated him and needed to hand the work of forgiveness to his Father
